End Reputation Theater
We've replaced vague, gameable 5-star ratings with a system of verifiable accountability. Here's how it works.
The Old Way: Vague Ratings
Traditional systems average unrelated factors into a single, meaningless score. Is a 5-star doctor good at surgery, or just friendly?
"Expert" Doctor
The New Way: Verifiable Merit
PROMISE measures what matters: a provider's track record of keeping specific promises in a specific field of expertise.
Merit Score
Make a Specific Promise
Instead of a vague goal, you make a clear, measurable promise. For example: "I promise to run 3 times a week for the next 4 weeks." This specificity removes ambiguity and sets a clear target for success.
Add Skin in the Game
To show you're serious, you attach a "stake" of credits to your promise. This creates real accountability. Your stake is safely held until the promise is assessed, ensuring every commitment has weight.
Provide Verifiable Evidence
As you work towards your goal, you provide evidence of your progress. This could be a photo, a link to your work on GitHub, data from a fitness app, or a verification from a friend. This creates a transparent record of your actions.
Assess the Outcome
Once the promise deadline is reached, it's assessed by the receiver as either "KEPT" or "BROKEN." This distributed assessment ensures that judgments are made by those with direct knowledge, not a central authority.
Earn Domain-Specific Merit
Your "Merit Score" is the sum of your promise-keeping history within a specific domain. It's a public record of your reliability that you can't buy—only earn. This becomes your most valuable asset, proving your expertise.
The Proof Behind the Process
These mechanics aren't just theoretical. They are validated by a multi-layered body of evidence, ensuring the system is secure, stable, and effective by design.
Formal Verification
Using the Coq proof assistant, we've mathematically proven that our economic model is highly resistant to collusion. The system's rules make large-scale manipulation economically irrational.

Thousands of simulations with autonomous agents confirm that honesty is the dominant long-term strategy. Agents with high Merit consistently outperform dishonest actors.
